"Your unlock key for goodies..."

Postby Bieeanda » Tue Oct 23, 2012 4:53 am

My apologies if this has been covered in another thread, but I'm having an odd (though fortunately minor) issue.

I got my Giana e-mails (yay!), and installed it properly on Steam (woo!), and it even used my saves from the demo (hmm).

My problem is that I've got a code for goodies, which is slightly longer than the Steam install code, and I have no idea where to plug it in. There doesn't seem to be an option in the configuration or the game itself, and Steam just tells me that it's an invalid code.

I presume this second code is for the alternate costumes, which aren't a huge deal. I'd just like to know where to put it. :)

The special goodies can't be used on the steam version, since steam isn't a drm free version.

You should have gotten a link to download a version besides the steam version. You can use the goodie code with this one. (on the drm free version)

At least this is how I understood this so far.

So there is no other way? I installed the steam version and I would hate to have installed the game twice. Also, the installer for me will take about 2 hours to download (while the Steam version downloaded in like 5 minutes.)

If/When the Steam version gets DLC and I keep the e-mail, could the install keys be used then or something, like proof? In the e-mail, the keys say they will expire after 24 hours. It is kind of a bummer. Anything us Steam user can do?

It says the links are -- they couldn't easily just swap keys about. It also says "You can request a new link from our Giana Sisters:Twisted Dreams Website if necessary:".

That said it'd be neat if the Steam version could use the goodies ... but I'm more than happy to wait, and if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen I guess.

If you enter the code in the settings-menu there will appear a new tab where you can choose between the costumes.

Are there plans to make the goodies available in the Steam version?

Uhm...why doesn't the Steam version have the goodies? That sounds odd.

You never know what crazy restrictions apply to Steam games... probably Steam does not allow ingame DLC?
